When will the registration for 2017 begin? I have been looking for it online, but everything seems to be focused on 2016 still.
Hi Rob, you can register here http://proam.beer/bcoem/
Is the registration page for the 2017 competition up yet? I’m afraid, I’ve missed it if it is.
Thanks
Hi Dustin, you can register here http://proam.beer/bcoem/
I am confused about the awards night. Your site says Friday, but the http://proam.beer beer site says Saturday
Hi Sandy,
The awards ceremony is indeed Saturday October 22nd. Sorry for the confusion.
Cheers
I am confused about the number of bottles to send. It doesn’t say above. I am shipping 650 ml bottles.
And I am wondering about the discount botton to increase the total to $15. Is the discount botton on the paypal page. I haven’t got that far yet. but I can’t make it work on the payment page.
Hi Dominic, you need to submit 2 bottles per entry. You need to enter discount code “pro” for the $15 pro entries. This is entered on the checkout page where you select how you would like to pay. Cheers
What are the requirements for either judging or being a steward? I have some time off at that point and would love to know if I can be of any help
Hi Mike,
I’ll pass your info onto David and he should be in touch with you shortly.
As far as “noting any special ingredients”. I entered this information on the online entry forms however the additional info was not printed out on the entry forms. Will the Judges have access to this information or should we be writing the information out by hand after the labels are printed?
Can i pay when i drop my beer off. i don’t have a credit card. My pay pall accounts are messed up and would like to do cash
I clicked “Available to steward” – that is, evenings and weekends. I haven’t figured out how to pay yet, one more try and I’ll just attach a cheque.
By the way, why the crazy password restrictions? It’s a hobby!
My (2) entries shipped out today…hope it makes it on time.
Cheers from Nova Scotia
Links like the beer was delivered…awesome

Any bottle size limitations?
We are a little looser on bottle size limitations due to the completely blind judging at our competition.
We would recommend the standard of 2 x 350ml bottle without identifying markings. If you only have something else, anything 250ml and above should be fine.
Do you have any details on what kind of help you need from volunteers, as well as the dates / hours needed from them?
I don’t see any ”general rules” section or something. It’s not easy if you have never entered a competition to know the usuals like instructions for bottles ( no labels, rubber band only etc). Also, do we put a paypal proof of payment in the box etc. Maybe it will save you some hassle.
Thanks for the ”remove button” !
In addition, what info is required for each entry under “Additional Information”? How many bottles do we submit? What size?
HI Jimmy,
Sorry about that.
It’s best to attach the labels to the bottles with a rubber band. We need 2 bottles of preferably 350ml unmarked bottles.
The best way to ship is to put protection around the bottles, put in a bag, and slip into a poster tube. You can then put the tube(s) into a box with peanuts or something. This should insure they make it safe and sound.
Paypal proof would be excellent if you don’t mind.
I see the competition software has changed from last year. I can’t ”remove an entry”. Is there a way to remove an entry?
Your committed! 😉 Just kidding. Please contact info@compete.beer as I’m sure he can help you out.
Hi Jimmy,
This has been updated. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Nathan
Where do i drop off my beers this year? at half pints?
Half Pints or Grain to Glass are the drop off locations.
Hi Thomas, you can drop off at Half Pints or at our store Grain To Glass located at 579 St-Mary’s Rd. We’re open 7 days a week. Cheers
Hello,
I’ve been brewing with a couple of friends for two years now and are looking forward to taking part in the competition this year. I just have a few questions about registering though. Who should we register the entries under? Currently I just have them registered under my name since I have an AHA membership. Also, does the “homebrew club” have to be a registered homebrew club or can it just be the name of our group?
Thanks and looking forward to it!
-Kurtis
Sounds great.
If your affiliate with a home brew club, put that. If not, the name of your group is great!
As for who’s name to put it under. Basically we can only give a prize to an individual, so sort out who is going to represent your co-brewers. There should be a place to put co-brewers down as well, but prizes are awarded for the registered entrant.
Hope that answers the questions OK.
My husband and I have just brewed 10 gallons of an amber maple beer we’d love to share at the Pro/Am challenge. We recently moved to Winnipeg so have never been to this event. Can you please send me more information about how we can participate and what the event entails. Thanks!
HI Kristin, Sounds great! I’ve updated the post with more information. Hopefully it’s everything you need. If not, please feel free to get in touch through our facebook or twitter @brewchallenge or email us ProAmBrewChallenge (at) gmail (dot) com
If possible I would like to be notified of the competition when details become available.
Thanks
Hi Gordon,
More details are up! Sorry for the delay.
